Day One of Baseball’s Fall World Series Finishes at 12-0 with Crimson Leading

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama’s World Series began Thursday night at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, with the Crimson taking a 12-0 lead after five innings.

Aidan Moza got the start for the Crimson, going 2.2 scoreless with a pair of strikeouts. Evan Chaffee then contributed 1.1 scoreless innings of work Austin Morris continuing the trend, blanking gray with a dotless 1.0 bezel.

Crimson work was directed by Jim Jarvis, with the senior reaching base twice on a pair of back-to-back hits and scoring an RBI on a sacrifice fly. Jarvis also added two runs and a pair of stolen bases in as many efforts. Old friend Drew Williamson recorded a pair of RBI while making an impressive sliding catch in foul territory to highlight the defense for both sides.

Alabama will return to the diamond tomorrow for Game 2 of the Fall World Series. First pitch of Friday’s contest is scheduled for 4:30 pm CT. Day two will begin with a 12-0 Crimson advantage with all three days of FWS acting as a back-to-back game.

Admission to the Alabama Baseball World Series is free to the public. Fans are asked to enter Sewell-Thomas Stadium through the main gates (Gates 1-3) located directly behind home plate. Once inside, fans must stand in the lower bowl seating area with entry strictly prohibited to the upper levels of the stadium.
