The death toll from the sinking of an illegally operating passenger ship in the northern Brazilian state of Para rose to 22 on Sunday after two bodies were found, according to regional authorities.
The ship sank on Thursday in the waters around Cotijuba Island in the regional capital of Belem.
According to the Public Security Secretariat of Para, rescue workers found two bodies of the victims of the shipwreck on Sunday morning.
According to Brazil’s state agency, there were 65 survivors from the accident, all of whom were rescued in the first moments of the tragedy.
