The Secretary of the Department of Labor and Human Resources (DTRH), Gabriel Maldonado González, called on Tuesday the residents of the south of the island, who are looking to join the work force or receive new professional development opportunities, to participate this week in “Expo Jobs 2022” in Ponce.
It is a massive recruiting event for various fields and industries, including the private and public sectors, with competitive benefits and compensation.
“After the success achieved last week with Expo Empleos 2022 in San Juan, this week we arrived in the magnificent city of Ponce with the participation of about 30 employers and hundreds of full-time and part-time jobs. Ahead of the Christmas season, one of the busiest times for business in Puerto Rico, this massive recruiting event aims to allow youth and adults to gain new job opportunities in various industries while employers recruit the necessary personnel for cover their human capital needs. “, the head of DTRH declared in a written statement.
“Expo Empleos 2022” will be held on Thursday, September 8 and Friday, September 9 on the first level of the Plaza Del Caribe mall in Ponce, a former La Defensa store. Hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The agency head recommended that attendees bring an up-to-date resume, though clarified that it is not a requirement to attend the job fair. “The only requirement to participate is the desire to work, grow and progress. Once the person arrives at the fair, they are oriented and their interests and skills are channeled. It is a dynamic and simple process,” he added.
For his part, Edwin Tavárez, general manager of Plaza Del Caribe, emphasized that “we believe that holding this job fair, in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Human Resources, will be the ideal mechanism so that both merchants downtown to do business like others. institutions in the southern and western regions of Puerto Rico, identify the necessary human resources for the upcoming Christmas season, so that more people can find work. We hope that this alliance between mall and DTRH to be the first of many with the aim of supporting traders in this region, which needs so many jobs and will benefit our communities”.
