CLEMSON, SC – Clemson juniors Hamady Diop and Ousmane Sylla each earned a spot on the Drawer Soccer Midseason Player of the Year list. Diop, a defender, was ranked number 25, while Sylla, a forward, was named no. 32 on the list.
Diop has been a staple of the Tigers’ backline for the past two seasons, playing in eight games in 2022. He played 90 minutes in Clemson’s 1-0 road win against North Carolina, as well as the 1- 1 at Pitt. In his career, he has played 36 games, scored five goals and added seven assists.
Sylla has been outstanding for Clemson in 2022, leading the team in goals and points with five and 16, respectively. He has scored at least one point in eight of his 13 games played and has two four-point games this season. He is currently sixth in the ACC in points per game at 1.23.
Diop and Sylla will both be in action Friday in Clemson’s regular season finale against NC State. Kickoff at Historic Riggs Field is set for 7:00 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on ACCNX.
