This is the moment a disgusted grandmother caught dozens of Notting Hill Carnival revelers urinating in the small yard next to her front door.
Susan Watts was left furious when she recorded at least 30 party-goers walking down her front steps leading to her housing association property in Notting Hill, west London, and urinating in her garden on her Ring app Video Doorbell.
The 69-year-old said the area was filled with puddles of urine and smelled ‘like a dirty toilet’ after the two-day event, which attracted almost 2 million people.
The pensioner, who is partially sighted and suffers from several ailments, was so outraged she sent a video summary to her local authority, Westminster City Council and housing association showing around 30 people urinating in her yard during the carnival two days earlier this. week.
Mrs Watts cried: ‘Actually there were more than 30 people who used my yard as a toilet, but if I had put them all on the video it would have been too long.
The way it was washed is unhygienic, unsanitary and disgusting. I can’t even stand in front of my house because of the stench of urine. It’s like being in a dirty toilet.’
After sending the video, Mrs Watts asked her local authority and housing association to jet wash her yard, only to be told it would cost her £75 because it is considered a private area.

She lamented: ‘In the past, I have hired my own car wash because this is not the first time this has happened, but this year I can’t do it. I can’t believe the council is making me pay to clean up a mess caused by people attending an event they allow to take place.
I recently had eye surgery and must stay away from toxic liquids or I could go completely blind. I object to being asked to wash my yard after council party goers used it as a toilet. These people should be ashamed of themselves.’
In the video, people can be clearly seen walking up the stairs to Mrs Watts’ yard, often with cans of alcohol in hand, and finding a corner to urinate.
Ms Watts has lived in her flat, which is on the main street of the carnival, since 2008. Every time the event takes place she goes to stay with her family in Wales insisting she cannot tolerate the noise and crowds who use her yard as a toilet.

She said: “I’m leaving Notting Hill because of the disturbance caused by the carnival. I’m not rich enough to board the entrance to my property and every time I come back, the yard always smells because it’s been used as a toilet. This year I also found a used tampon.’
Mrs Watts revealed that after previous complaints to the local authority fell on deaf ears, this year her niece installed a video doorbell to back up her claims.
She said: “I have complained in the past but no one listens, so we decided to film what happens in my yard as evidence that something needs to be done.

“I was in Wales while the carnival was going on and my family and I couldn’t believe the images we were seeing. It’s filthy behavior and it’s not fair that the poor people of Notting Hill are paying for the clean-up.’
She added: “When I came back earlier this week I was met with the usual smell of urine in my yard, but at least now I have images to prove what happened.
“I hope that next year, the Council will put the entrance to my property so that it is not used as a toilet.
