The Dominican Republic’s gross national savings lead as the highest in Latin America among the countries with the highest savings rate as it is equivalent to 27.8% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), according to the Superintendence of Banks (SB).
This indicator, understood as the sum of private and public savings, exceeded the average of Latin American and Caribbean countries, which is 19.8% of GDP, in December 2021.
