Twitter’s multi-billion dollar lawsuit may not be the only thing Elon Musk has to worry about right now.
Former President Donald Trump has recently targeted Musk with a series of derogatory comments online after Musk announced that he no longer intended to buy Twitter. It’s unclear why news of Musk bailing on his Twitter deal would push Trump. But perhaps the former president had secretly hoped that Musk would follow through on his promise to allow him to return to the social media platform when he took office.
Since then, the two have been talking about each other on social media.
The feud between the two flared up over the weekend at Trump’s rally in Alaska.

“Elon! Elon! He’s not going to buy Twitter. Where have you heard that before? From me!” Trump told a crowd of supporters on July 9: “He’s made a mess of himself.”
But the barb-throwing got a little more serious late Tuesday, when Trump claimed the Tesla CEO came to him begging for help with his “subsidized projects” when the 45th President of the United States was in The White House.

“When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help with all his many subsidized projects, whether it’s electric cars that don’t drive enough, driverless cars that crash, or rockets, without which he would have subsidies . worthless, and telling me he was a big Trump fan and a Republican, I could have said, ‘get on your knees and pray’ and he would have…” Trump posted on Truth Social along with a photo of Musk standing next to the president in the Oval Office.
What is social truth?
Trump is referring to it billions of dollars in government subsidies Musk’s companies, such as Tesla and SpaceX, have received over the years.
“Now Elon needs to focus on getting himself out of the Twitter mess because he could be $44 billion in debt for something that’s probably worthless,” he. continued. “Also, lots of competition for electric cars!”

Musk responded to a picture of Trump’s comments on Twitter with an “Lmaooo” followed by a GIF of Grandpa Simpson yelling at the clouds.
At his July 9 rally, Trump continued to mock Musk about the “rotten deal” he signed to buy Twitter. Trump often digs and goes off on tangents discussing random current events at his rallies, so it’s unclear why he chose to pick a fight with Musk. The Tesla CEO is now being sued by Twitter, a social media platform that Trump sees as the biggest competitor to his Truth Social service. While Trump publicly said he would stick to his “Truth Social” platform, Musk’s withdrawal and closing the door on Trump’s potential return to Twitter could very well have left the former president.
The latest on Musk vs. Twitter
But Trump took his taunts even further, calling Musk a “fucking artist.” claiming he voted for a Republican for the first time just this year. According to Trump, Musk told the former president that he had voted for him before.

CEO of Tesla he answered in a video of Trump’s comments in a series of tweets.
“I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat and sail off into the sunset,” Musk said of the 76-year-old former president. “Also, I think the legal maximum age for starting a presidential term should be 69.”
Musk also insisted on one I tweet that Trump’s claim that Musk said he voted for him is not “true.”

In recent months, Trump supporters have become fans of Elon Musk as well because of his comments about internet moderation, bashing Trump on Twitter and generally mocking the left. So who will they side with in this feud?
Late Tuesday night, Elon Musk common a Twitter meme that gives people a choice of who they “hate” more: Trump or Musk. Shortly after posting the meme, Musk deleted it. Something tells us he may not have liked the answers he was getting.
