He then added to Express.co.uk: “I pray that God guides my surgeon’s hand this week and helps me get back to the man I used to be.”
Eamonn also spoke about why he reaches out to his large online following when he suffers from more serious flare-ups of his chronic pain.
“Last week, over two more difficult nights, I reached out again and the response was just as overwhelming,” he wrote in his column.
“It’s sad to think that so many are alone in their pain capsule. You can be surrounded by family and friends and yet the pain is exclusive to you.
“He is your companion.”
