Ecuador hosts the largest donkey race in the world

The town of Salcedo, in the heart of the Ecuadorian Andes, was the scene of the world’s biggest donkey race on Saturday (10).

More than fifty representatives of the horse-sized equine family, with very long ears, standing manes and tufted tails, passed through the cobbled streets of the small town – although many stopped halfway, without even the slightest intention to continue.
