“Twitter’s board is committed to closing the transaction for the price and terms agreed upon with Mr. Musk and plans to pursue legal action to enforce the merger agreement,” the board’s chairwoman said. The founder of Space X first announced earlier this year that he planned to buy the media company for an impressive $44 billion.

Musk, who previously bought a nine percent stake in Twitter, later revealed that his plans were on hold.
