Elon Musk has gained access to I tweet data he said he needed to complete his $44 billion acquisition, but data scientists and specialists doubt the stream will provide the definitive answers he seeks about the number of fake accounts on the platform.
After several legal exchanges between the two parties, Twitter in recent weeks provided Mr. Musk with historical tweet data and access to his so-called firehose of tweets, people familiar with the matter said. This firehose shows the full deluge of all tweets — people tweet hundreds of millions of times a day on the platform, according to the company — in near real time.
