Governor Pedro Rafael Pierluisi Urrutia reported on Wednesday that the manager of the Technical Institutes Division of the Vocational Area of the Department of Education (DE), Kelvin Pagán, whose residence and office were raided by federal authorities, will be suspended.
The news was confirmed on RADIO ISLA by the secretary of the agency, Eliezer Ramos. According to Ramos, Pagán was separated from his job while the investigation is ongoing and there is a presumption of innocence.
Asked about his opinion that there have been some cases in which the Department of Education has been interfered with by federal authorities, the governor replied: “Yes, but look, we’ve had no sign of significance in that department at least this year. and seven months since we’ve been in charge, this is the first time we’ve had a situation like this.”
