Increase in productivity, at the level of customer and employee satisfaction. These are some of the benefits of purpose-driven companies. According to Deloitte’s 2020 Global Marketing Trends survey, these companies gain more market share (market share) and grow, on average, three times faster than their competitors.
For Marilene Fernandes, an organizational psychologist and headhunter (a term used to define a talent spotter), having a goal has become essential to being a successful professional.
“You have to discover your purpose so that everything you do has meaning. Many times we don’t have that answer because we’re looking for something material, tangible to answer. We think about work, family, but we can’t connect them all of it and that’s when the purpose is in connecting everything you do and how you deliver it to the world,” she says.
The study further shows that these companies have 30% higher levels of innovation and 40% higher average workforce retention than their competitors who do not yet have this orientation.
The survey also highlights that young people around the world are developing with a deeper sense of purpose than previous generations and are looking for products that directly support causes they care about.
“In the past, there was a lot of talk about working to earn money and provide material needs, but this new generation wants more. They are more and more versatile and involved in something they really believe in, wanting to work in a company with an authentic purpose, which they identify themselves”, says headhunter Marilene Fernandes, who works on the search for the best and most specific professionals to fill vacancies in large companies.
