Encuentran un cuerpo, que podría ser de la periodista mexicana desaparecida Cándida Vázquez

A body was found this Saturday in a navigation channel in the Mexican city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa, and may be journalist Cándida Cristal Vázquez, missing since July 21.

Although the governor of the state, Rubén Rocha Moya, confirmed that he was the journalist, the local Prosecutor’s Office indicated that this point has not yet been confirmed, because genetic tests have yet to be carried out.

For his part, the mayor of Mazatlan, Luis Guillermo Benítez Torres, declared that “everything indicates that it is her”, but that they are waiting for the assessments of specialists to prove her identity.

According to local media, the body was found inside a bag in a canal of a private urbanization with signs of violence: his hands and feet were tied with stones and a rope around his neck.

The parents initially confirmed that the remains belonged to their daughter. However, later his mother questioned the identity through her social networks, as tattoos were found on the body.
