Enjoy Arts & Cultural Experiences in The Palm Beaches

LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla., Sept. 15, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Palm Beach will soon be home to the XII Federation of International Polo (FIP) World Championships — and with thousands of expected international visitors, Cultural Council for Palm Beach County is pleased to promote cultural activities that provide enrichment for everyone in the family.

Hosted at the Palm Beach International Polo Club (IPC) in Wellington, Fla. from October 26 to November 6, the 2022 tournament marks just the second time in the competition’s 35-year history that it has been held at the U.S. Building in this buzz, here’s a selection of programs for those visiting Florida’s Capital of Culture during those dates .   • Polo Museum and Hall of Fame (Wellington): Visitors are invited to discover the history and traditions of polo. Featured exhibits include an interactive timeline that charts the journey from polo’s roots in Asia (more than 2,600 years ago!) through its evolution in the Americas and its current status as a popular sport around the world. Other exhibits include “The Polo Pony: An Extraordinary Athlete,” “Horses to Remember,” an exhibit on the making of the hammer and the history of the U.S. Open Championship.   • Okeeheelee Park (West Palm Beach): Experience the elite art form of dressage—a form of horsemanship performed in exhibition and competition—while enjoying the beautiful nature center, bike trails, kayaking, fishing and butterfly garden at Okeeheelee Park. Two fashion shows organized by Classic Wellington clothing at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Centre will be held on September 24-25 and October 22-23. More information can be found here.
  • Cultural Council for Palm Beach County (Lake Worth Beach): A new exhibition highlighting the work of Palm Beach County’s astonishingly talented Latin American artists will run from October 28 to January 14 at the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County’s premier gallery. Curated by guest curator Juliana Forero (founder of Nomad Art Projects), the Contemporary Art of the Latin American Diaspora the exhibit highlights diverse works by more than 20 local artists and aims to showcase the range of the Latin American experience while celebrating the art of its people.   • Art Warehouse (Delray Beach): Looking to go a little further south? Visitors are invited to Delray Beach’s Warehouse Market – Fall Edition to shop local artists, makers and creative businesses at Arts Warehouse. It’s perfect for pre-holiday shopping and a great opportunity to support local creative professionals while finding a handmade gift or something unique for yourself. This event will include live music and food items for sale, and on-site galleries and artists’ studios will also be open. The event is family friendly and takes place on November 19 from 11am to 5pm.   • Boca Raton Museum of Art (Boca Raton):
    • The museum is praised Hollywood background art The exhibit runs until January 22, 2023, and features sweeping backdrops from films between 1938 and 1968. A celebration of an almost-forgotten folk art form, highlights include the Mount Rushmore painting, Ben-HowRome, the Von Trapp family’s Austrian Alps, and Gene Kelly’s Paris street scene.     • New museum exhibition Reginald Cunningham: The Black Pearls features the work of prominent Washington-based photographer and activist Reginald Cunningham, who traveled to Boca Raton’s historic Pearl City neighborhood to photograph the stories of generations. The artist captured not only images of Pearl’s townspeople, but also the physical and ephemeral elements that make up the community. Pearl City is the first district ever established in Boca Raton. Cunningham’s special exhibition runs through January 22, 2023 and features 10-20 large-scale photographs with accompanying audio oral histories and personal memories passed down through families. The exhibition is accompanied by a full-color catalog featuring an introduction to the artist by Dr. Imani Cheers and historical essay on the City of Pearls by Dr. Candace Cunningham.   • Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach (West Palm Beach): If you’re looking for an elevated evening of music and art, that of society ClarinetFest: Mozart and Brahms Quintets with José Franch-Ballester will take place on Thursday, November 17, at the Norton Museum of Art.   • Lighthouse ArtCenter (Tequesta): Located on the northern edge of Palm Beach County, the Lighthouse ArtCenter will present three new exhibitions from October 13 – December 10: LUSH2a contemporary ceramics exhibition; Hunt Slonem: The World According to Hunt Slonem, featuring the work of the famous American painter, sculptor and printmaker; AND Lucio Chiurulla: Structures, featuring the work of sculptor Lucio Chiurulla.     • 12th Annual WPB Arts Festival downtown: Enjoy an afternoon filled with arts and culture during the 12th Annual Downtown West Palm Beach Art Festival featuring all mediums of fine art. Residents and visitors are invited from November 19 to 20 to stroll Rosemary Avenue among life-size sculptures, spectacular paintings, unique jewelry, photography, ceramics and more.     • Fall Picnic and Cocktail Class: Celebrate pumpkin season with a lawn picnic, fall photo backdrop and cocktail class with mixology extraordinaire Gio Gutierrez on October 2 from 3 to 5 p.m. More information is available here.
    • The taste of the Square: Let the eating begin! The square will be transformed into a gastronomic destination offering ticket holders food samples from beloved restaurants, complete with live music and a pop-up bar on the lawn. The festival takes place on October 20 and supports the Promise Fund of Florida, a non-profit organization that aims to prevent the unnecessary progression of breast and cervical cancer, with a donation of 100 percent of the net proceeds.
