Galeria Zagut presents the exhibition Donacion 2022 – tribute to Carlos Cesari, Frederico Dalton and Suzi Coralli, in virtual form, from 22.9.22 to 10.9.22. The exhibition can be visited on the website, where there is a catalog, the possibility of printing, a virtual gallery and videos made by the artists.
In the first and second donation action for the public collection that was organized by Zagut in 2019, Donation D, for the National Library and 74 artists, for the Federal University of Espírito Santo, Carlos Cesari, Frederico Dalton and Suzi Coralli participated, February film lives were taken during this time of pandemic, being honored in this new fundraising organization three years later.
The perspective of donating works to competent public institutions with their collections has among its objectives that the work is available for future generations to recognize the work of artists, enabling in the present and in the future dialogue with the current time.
Treasures like those of the National Library are not so well known, not even in the artistic environment, despite all the efforts of the institution through publications and exhibitions, in addition to all the digitization, in trying to show a little of these ten million items, these thousands. of artists. with works deposited there.
Contemporary art made by Brazilian artists is expressed in a powerful and questioning way. The thoughts, the problems, the most important issues, the people of this particular nation are reflected, often unpleasantly, making up a “Braziliana” of today.
Each of the honored artists has exceptional characteristics of quality work and exceptional humanity. It is important that your memory is remembered. Meeting these three artists made a difference in the lives of those who met them.
The organization of this donation reflects a part of contemporary Brazil. Brazil in the space of a few years saw precious collections burned, dealing with the military dictatorship very recently (as more than half of the population remembers it well), which presents itself as one of the world’s champions of inequality. But a Brazil that is also among the champions of volunteers; that there is a health system for everyone, which despite countless problems is a champion in so many areas, guaranteed by the constitution; who hope to learn from these fires, from these environmental crimes, from this dictatorship, so that they don’t happen again.
With great generosity and political responsibility, these artists with decades of dedication to art expand the possibility of dialogue and clearly signal the support for culture, its agents and institutions, which we believe are essential for our continued transformation. This donation symbolizes hope in the country, in the preservation of cultural institutions, in the transformation of our world. And when the direction, the government, the tastes, the symbols, the problems, the people, the artists, the research go, this little part of Brazil today will be kept there, accessible to all, being able to interact with what is coming .
