The Fairmont Rio hosted the Charity Auction of Works of Art celebrating the 13th anniversary of Pipa Social NGO, the philanthropic event featured a dinner with a menu prepared by executive chef Jérôme Dardillac, an auction led by Ernani Leiloeiro and an intimate performance by artists Iara Figueiredo and Rafael Direito. The artworks were curated by Vera Azevedo, Pinakotheke Cultural Rio is a partner in the initiative that combines art and social awareness
An unforgettable night focused on doing good. This was the sentiment of those who participated in “Dia da Pipa”, a philanthropic event celebrating the 13th anniversary of the opening of the Pipa Social NGO that took place at the Fairmont Rio de Janeiro, this Saturday evening, December 7.
The hotel — which has social responsibility as its pillars — supports the institution, which is dedicated to projects that help promote talent development in low-income communities in Rio de Janeiro.
A select group of guests, such as Iolanda Figueiredo, Ivone Boechat, Renata Abranchs, among others, were able to enjoy the menu created by executive chef Jérôme Dardillac. Afterwards, they enjoyed an intimate performance by artists Iara Figueiredo and Rafael Direito.
The highlight of the night was the Charity Auction of Works of Art, which was curated by Vera Azevedo, from Pinakotheke Cultura Rio and featured pieces by Alexandre Dacosta, Andrea Antonon, Augusto Herkenhoff, Edgar Duvivier, Flávio Shiró, Gonçalo Ivo, in addition to the artists’ collections which are part of the contemporary art gallery Gentil Carioca and Galeria Pinakotheke RJ.
The amount collected during the auction run by Casa Ernani Leiloeiro was donated to the NGO Pipa Social and will be part of the projects that changed the lives of more than 8 thousand people.
