Islamabad: Federal government employees have announced to stage a grand protest outside the parliament chamber on September 14, demanding the fulfillment of their demands, ARY News reported.
According to details, the protest would be led by the Government Employees Grand Alliance (AGPGA). AGPGA has said that the protests will continue until their demands are met.
The employees have demanded 100% increase in housing rent, medical and transport allowances and permanent daily wages and contract and Adhoc employees.
The employees have complained about the inequality in salaries and the non-giving of executive allowances and have demanded a 150% increase according to the reports of the commission of payments and pensions.
The Minister of the Interior had informed the Prime Minister about the complaints of the employees.
In June, a special meeting of the federal cabinet approved the proposed federal budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year.
The special cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and attended by federal ministers, advisers and special assistants approved the Finance Bill 2022-2023.

Tweeting, Information Minister Mariyum Aurangzeb announced that the federal cabinet has approved a 15 percent hike in government employees’ salaries and a 5 percent hike in pensions.
“The government also approved the merger of adhoc allowances in the basic pay,” she further announced.
