The production is by Tiago Rezende, from Morena Filmes. The film opens in theaters on September 22, distributed by Paris Filmes.
Played by Nelson Freitas, Eike – All or nothing covers a short but intense period in the life of former billionaire Eike Batista.
Nelson Freitas faced a 28-hour trip from Australia to Rio for the film’s release, after he had been there for about 6 months on the other side of the planet.
Nelson Freitas detailed in a press interview what it was like preparing to play the role.
“I reviewed a large amount of videos and interviews
that we had available. We try to escape the stereotype
of imitation or anything that conveyed it.
Our eike is an interpretation of a character
which is contemporary for us and you can’t invent too much.”
The story begins in 2006, when Brazil was going through an economic expansion with the pre-salt layer and the businessman decides to create the oil company OGX, and goes until his arrest in 2017, the target of Operation Efficiency, a spin-off of Operation. Lava Jato, in Rio de Janeiro.
In this operation, Eike was accused of being part of a corruption scheme by former governor Sergio Cabral, imprisoned since 2016.
Reaching the seventh richest man in the world in 2012, Eike went from boom to bust in just a few years. With an estimated fortune of 30 billion dollars, at the time he was the biggest Brazilian billionaire in the world and was at his peak with the companies of the EBX group (OGX, MMX and OSX). In 2014, he was no longer on the Forbes list.
the movie, Eike – All or nothing reveals the behind-the-scenes of this very media story, but which still causes controversy and curiosity to this day. The pop language that is a hallmark of the directors, gives the film a modern and agile aesthetic.
The film also features:
– Thelmo Fernandes, Marcelo Valle, Bukassa Kabengele, Juliana Alves and Xando Graça who play the OGX employees, in addition to Jonas Bloch and André Mattos who plays the former governor. Fittingly, former Petrobras employees who left the state-owned company to found OGX are given fictitious names: Laerte, Kopas, Nelson, Zita and Odorico. Dr. Oil.
In one film, Carol Castro plays Luma de Oliveira, Eike’s ex-wife.
CAROL CASTRO REPRODUCED PLAYBOY COVER BY LUMA DE OLIVEIRA
Actress Carol Castro reproduced the penultimate of the five covers in which Luma posed for the famous Playboy magazine (May 2001), a fact that caused an argument between the couple (Luma x Eike), resulting in a crisis in their relationship.
Remembering that, two years ago, another essay of Oliveira was shelved by Eike Batista, after he paid 20% of the amount the woman would receive from the magazine, making Vera Fischer the big star of the cover of the beginning of the millennium.
Luma even came to do a new Playboy cover, but she had to insist a lot to finally get her husband’s permission to do it.
At the premiere, who took part was police officer Gabriel Sequeira, a real police officer who works in Segurança Presente RJ and played Captain José Albucacys (Cássio in the film), the firefighter who was pointed out as the reason for the separation of Luma de Oliveira and Eike. Gabriel was invited by the production to participate in the film, due to his physical resemblance to the fire captain. He starred opposite actress Carol Castro, who plays Luma.
