First Citizens is sponsoring the Ms Tobago Personality of Heritage competition for the 37th consecutive year.
The event celebrates the rich cultural heritage and talent of Tobagonians and reaffirms First Citizens’ commitment to supporting initiatives that promote cultural diversity, community empowerment and development, the bank said in a media release.
Seven racers will compete in the July 11 event at Shaw Park from 7 p.m. They will be judged in the categories of talent, evening wear and cultural expression.
First Citizens kicked off activities on July 1 with a financial literacy workshop and community outreach initiative at Peace of Mind Nursing Home, Signal Hill, where delegates spent the afternoon with residents bringing joy and laughter to all, the release said. .
Reflecting on the group’s commitment to community empowerment through cultural preservation, First Citizens head of brand and marketing Gillian Benjamin said in the release, “First Citizens is honored to be a part of such a prestigious event that celebrates the heritage and unique identity of Tobago. We believe in the importance of preserving and promoting cultural diversity, and the Lady Tobago Heritage Personality Show provides a platform for Tobago women to showcase their talents and contributions to our society.
Janelle Drysdale-Job, Acting CEO, Tobago Festivals Commission Ltd expressed her delight at the continued sponsorship.
“The Lady Tobago Heritage Personality Competition is a vital platform that celebrates Tobago’s rich cultural tapestry, promoting the island’s traditions, history and artistic expressions,” she said in the release. “It allows young women to showcase their talents, intelligence and cultural knowledge, ultimately contributing to the preservation and appreciation of our unique heritage.”
