First Harpy Eagles practice match starts Saturday – News Room Guyana

The first and much needed four-day practice match for the Guyana Harpy Eagles that was scheduled to begin on January 12 has been rescheduled for January 14 at the National Stadium, Providence.

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) informed the change of dates is a result of bad weather and the second match will start on January 19.

Match time is 09:30 every day.

These matches will prove extremely vital for selectors and team managers with spaces to fill due to the absence of several key players for the first round of the Four-Day Regional Championship which begins on February 1.

Guyana will face defending champions Barbados Pride in Antigua.

After the first match, Guyana will travel to Grenada to take on the Windward Island Volcanoes from February 8-11 at the National Stadium.

The tournament will then take a break and resume on March 15 and run until April 1 for the final three rounds, which will be played in Trinidad and Tobago.

This will be followed by a new domestic red-ball tri-series, the Headley-Weekes series, which will feature three four-day matches and will be played from April 18 to May 6 at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.
