As the sounds of steel pans and other Caribbean music reverberate through Brooklyn, the Flatbush Central Caribbean Marketplace (FCCM) — a carnival destination for colorful traditional Caribbean flag clothing and accessories — will once again be home to a long weekend of festivities, including live music and DJs, food tastings, open shops, community health screenings and extended hours into the night.
Additionally, Marketplace will launch its first self-titled gift box “Likkle Barrel”, featuring products from legacy FFCM entrepreneurs.
Through FCCM’s technical assistance and business support, FCCM said vendors are equipped to enhance their skills, grow their enterprises and build community wealth.

Blk Men’s Health Initiative
The goal of the Black Men’s Health Initiative is to educate black men about their health concerns and encourage them to go to wellness appointments, seek preventive care, and monitor and treat any conditions they may have. regularly, as well as discuss men’s health and community issues. The organization hosts seminars throughout the year, addressing health issues that affect black men in large numbers. Held annually, the Black Men’s Health Conference brings together health experts, area physicians and community members for a day of education about health issues that specifically affect black men more than other populations. The Youth Conference brings boys ages 12-17 to The Health Gap for a day of learning about how your health affects your future and how to become the person they want to be.
Carnival Dancers/Cross Movement
Kross movement is a group of fitness classes interspersed with different dance styles. Created by Founder Kiara Ross, Kross stands for an intersection between dance and fitness and has created an infectious dance community across NYC.
The intervention of the island
Island Interlude was born to bridge the gap between the Caribbean and the concrete jungle. With a heavy focus on the only acoustic instrument invented in the 20th century, this open mic concept invites musicians of all walks to feel, play and meet the sounds of the West Indies.
