Manchester DJ and producer Florentino is making his XL Recordings debut with his new single ‘Constrictor’.
The sound of Latin American dance music is paired with the deeper, more powerful low-end tones that are typical of British bass music on ‘Constrictor’, underscoring Florentino’s dual cultural identity.
The rhythm of ‘Constrictor’ is amped up, giving the drums a powerful and essential impact – making every listener want to move their body to the bear.

The track features a Toronto based dancehall artist Bambii and Dominican urban vocalist artist KD ONE.
Speaking on the single, Florentino says: “This song represents me opening ever so slightly the floodgates to a new sound, one that I’ve been refining over the last few years and have been patiently waiting to release.
“It’s phase 2 of Florentino. it’s sharper, darker and safer. Designed to rock your speakers, Constrictor is the first page in the next chapter.”

Florentino has risen to the Manchester scene and beyond in the club and made a name for himself with his debut ‘Tu Y Yo’, released through the Swing Ting label.
In 2021, Florentino founded his record label, Club Romantico, to promote alternative and cutting-edge Latin music from around the world. In the same year, Florentino joined forces with DJ Python, Kelman Duran and the underground group Sangre Nueva to create the well-received EP ‘Goteo’.
