Camcycle and its partners will come together this Saturday (September 24) for the 2022 Cambridge Cargo Carnival.
The event consists of a bike parade around Lammas Land and the city centre, followed by bike stalls and cargo bike trials at Cambridge University Library.
Participants should meet at the library from 11:00 am to start the trip at 11:30 am. Bike stalls and trials will be open from 12.15pm to 2.30pm.
Roxanne De Beaux, chief executive of Camcycle, said: “The Cargo Carnival is a celebration of Cambridge’s leading role in increasing the use of cargo bikes for businesses and families.
“Each year, new innovations bring a wider range of these cycles to our roads, making them a sustainable alternative to driving for more everyday and business trips.
“We like to highlight the work of Cambridge’s cargo bike pioneers to encourage others to give them a try, so if you run a bike business in the region, get in touch and we’ll add you to our business directory bicycles.
Taking place two days after World Car Free Day, the event aims to celebrate all things bikeable and raise awareness of the power of non-motorized transport.
Those taking part are encouraged to join in the fun with cargo bikes of all shapes and sizes, and creativity is also encouraged: past events have seen a shed, a bathtub and a beehive on wheels.
Participating cargo bike dealers are Outspoken Cycles, Electric Bike Sales, School Run Centre, Townsends and Cyclecentric with a host of cargo bike options to suit everyone. Conker of Cambridge will also be there with some cargo bike safety accessories.
