Get Spooked with FCC’s Annual Fall Carnival and Haunted House – The Rampage Online

Fresno City College is holding its annual Fall Carnival on Friday, October 28 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., but it may look a little different than previous carnivals.

The FCC Fall Carnival is a free community event for students, families and children to come out and enjoy some seasonal festivities.

This year the event, which is traditionally held at Ratcliffe Stadium, will take place on the FCC University Mall, stretching from the front of the Library to Yokuts Plaza located outside the Music/Speech Building, according to the student activities officer Maile Martin.

The reason why the autumn festival was moved from its traditional location is a combination of space and circumstances.

“We have a long tradition of holding autumn carnivals at Ratcliffe Stadium and due to the pandemic we haven’t had one for a number of years,” said Martin. “Last year we put it on as a drive-in event in the parking lot, which was extremely successful because parents had nowhere to take their kids; so from 17:30 to 20:00 the cars never stopped.”

With the return of face-to-face classes, the student activities center thought it best to move the carnival to campus.

“This year we’ve moved it to our University Mall because we’ve honestly outgrown Ratcliffe a little bit and we’re trying to encourage more people to come,” said Student Activities Officer Heather Gray.

The fall carnival will include a haunted house hosted by the Associated Student Government, performances by the FCC cheer team, science exhibits and several food trucks.

Other activities will include carnival games, live DJ performances and a photo booth.

Guests may park for free on campus during the event.
