Goals continue galore in the BFA Republic Cup Loop Barbados

The Barbados Football Association (BFA) Republic Cup entered its second week of action last weekend in eight venues across the country

After an incredible 64 goals on the opening day, the goal feast continued as 87 goals were scored over the two days of competition.

The biggest win over the weekend was achieved at the Valery playground. Home team Brittons Hill FC dismissed St John College Savannah 11-1 in the full-length match, while Premier League side Abrahams United Silver Sands made light work of their minor opponents Eastern United Football Club, winning by 7 -1 in the 18:00 game.

At the Belleplaine pitch, there was another massive win for the home team. St Andrew Lions blanked Technique 7-0 and in the previous encounter at the same venue, Beverley Hills won the city vs country battle when they beat Youth Milan 3-1.

At Dover, Pinelands blanked FC Bydes Mill 5-0 and in the southern derby Pride of Gall Hill won 3-1 against Parish Land.

In other games on Saturday night in Bridgefield, a youthful Carlton Red & White unit defeated Whitehall FA 2-1 and Bagatelle FC won 3-1 over St Peter Cosmos.

On Sunday night the score lines were friendlier but the goals continued to flow.

At the Mahaica ground in Speightstown, Spartans FC and WRBSSC played to a 2-2 draw and Checker Hall FC and Villa United played to a similar scoreline.

In the Second Division match at Friendship, Caribbean United defeated Benfica 3-0 and Barbados Soccer Academy (BSA) won 5-2 against home side Hothersal Turning.

Another local team was successful in their match on Sunday evening.

Fitts Village FC scored four goals past Greens United to run out 4-2 winners and Potential Ballers brushed aside Mavericks SC 4-1.

Finally at Briar Hall. Kickstart Rush won 5-1 against Dayrell’s Road FC and L&R United beat Chickmont FC 4-0.
