From time to time, we see Apple mocked on Twitter by people willing to throw shade at the Cupertino flagship.
And what’s funny is how those people scoffing are actually the ones using Apple’s iPhone devices to do this.
Now, we are hearing new reports that Google is doing the same and not learning from so many mistakes made in the past.
Yesterday, the company’s Pixel Team was in the mood to joking and making fun of the firm. And they did it via a tweet published via Twitter for iPhone. It was clearly not the best decision in our books for obvious reasons.
While it was wiped out at a faster rate than expected, one thing is for sure. The Internet can never forgive or forget. Therefore, a Twitter handle for the site was named Ian Zelbo was quick to point out the behavior and the account involved.
He says Google’s Pixel Team was brave enough to send a mocking reply to Apple CEO Tim Cook’s ‘Take Note’ teaser. For those who may not be aware, that particular line, Take Note, became the subject of memes last night. It attracted a lot of negative feedback because many felt that Apple failed to display originality.
That tag is also used by the Utah Jazz NBA team, and seeing Apple ignore it was funny to some.
So Google chose to join the bandwagon and play with that theme. They sent out tweets boldly declaring how the Team Pixel would help bring more NBA fans closer to their favorite team than a regular iPhone from Apple.
They even went on to tease it further by asking users to tell their favorite NBA teams and that way, they would be able to allow better information during the NBA season than Apple.
After being called out for the ridiculous response, Google decided to immediately take down the tweet. But wait, they sent it back a second time. But this time they seem to have learned from their mistake. Now, it was released via Twitter for the Web.
Hopefully Google learns its lesson because this is just an embarrassment in our books. And so many social media giants and tech firms have done the same. So really, the joke is on them.
