Instead of the usual haunted house, this year’s festivities will feature a Halloween carnival, prizes for the best costume and “Trunk or Treating” – where decorated cars will hand out candy to attendees from their trunks , presented by Gateway Church.
“I can’t wait to see all the kids enjoying the carnival games, especially dressing up in costumes,” said Block 50 event coordinator Michelle Schwengler. “Our goal is always to bring joy and laughter, and this event is no exception.”
Good times are expected, the event also offers the community a chance to give back. Leduc Santa’s Helpers will be on site collecting new and unused items in preparation for the holiday season. Some suggestions for items for newborn to age 17 include clothes, pajamas, books, toys, sports equipment, board games, gift cards, care items, and arts and crafts kits.
City Life Church will distribute Samaritan’s Purse shoe boxes, which can be taken home and filled with toys, school supplies and personal care items to underprivileged children around the world.
The Leduc Boys & Girls Club will also be on hand accepting cash donations at their Halloween potluck.
The all-ages event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at Block 50 Plaza.
