LAKELAND, FL (September 19, 2022) | City Manager Shawn Sherrouse has named Kris Hallstrand Director of the Lakeland Linder International Airport, effective Sunday, September 18.th. Hallstrand has served as Interim Director since March 3, 2022, when past Director Gene Conrad accepted the position of President/CEO of the Air Center for Excellence.
City Manager Shawn Sherrouse said, “Chris has proven herself during the six months she has served as Interim Director of Lakeland Linder International Airport, and I feel confident that we have the right person for the job going forward. Kris is very familiar with the Department’s responsibilities and has significant experience in airport operations.” He added, “I am extremely pleased that Chris has accepted the promotion and as an organisation, we look forward to the next chapter of the airport with Chris in the pilot’s seat.”
Hallstrand said, “I am honored to be given the opportunity to lead Lakeland Linder International Airport as the newly appointed Airport Director. I am honored to be the Airport Director of Lakeland Linder International Airport and look forward to working with the Airport team and Airport tenants to serve the community as an economic engine.
As Director of Lakeland Linder International Airport, Hallstrand will receive a 5% pay adjustment. This will provide the equivalent of an annual salary of $130,878. Kris has over 20 years of airport management experience including over five years as Assistant Director and Interim Director of Lakeland Linder International Airport. Past experience includes Airport Director at Price County Airport in Phillips, Wisconsin, Maintenance and Operations Supervisor at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and operations manager at Lakeland Linder International Airport. Kris also proudly served in the US Air Force as a C-130 crew chief for 14 years and is a veteran of the Afghan war.
