Miguel Cummins was born on Wednesday 5 September 1990 in St Michael’s Parish, Barbados. He is a left-handed batsman and right-arm bowler. Cummins played as a bowler in the West Indies team. He played 14 Tests and 11 one-day cricket matches for the West Indies team.
Miguel Cummins made his first-class season for Barbados by playing a match in the four-day regional competition. Cummins was groomed by Barbados in 2013. He took 35 wickets in eight matches as Barbados beat Trinidad and Tobago by an innings and 22 runs in the final to win the competition. Cummins took nine wickets in the final (5/30 and 4/75) and was named man of the match. Earlier in the season, against the same team, he had taken career-best figures of 7/45.
Due to Cummins’ excellent performance, he was included in the West Indies team for two series after 2013. He played one match against Sri Lanka in June, and later played six matches against India. Ireland toured the West Indies in early 2014 to play one ODI and two T20 Internationals. This series Cummins was selected in the senior West Indies ODI squad. He gave 1 for 42 runs in six overs in this match. Not only that, he had bowled three no-balls in an over in a match, two of which were for sixes from Forterfield.
Cummins played for Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel and Antigua Hawksbills in the first and second seasons of the Caribbean Premier League, respectively. He was named Emerging Player of the Year at the 2014 WIPA/WICB Awards, which recognized performances over the past season. On 30 July 2016, he played Test cricket for the West Indies against India. In October 2018, Cricket West Indies awarded him a red ball for the 2018–19 season.
