Crowds turned out to watch the headlining parade, which exploded in colour, costume and sound as it made its way from St Peter’s Church, along Oxford Street, Station Parade, down Cambridge Street, past the Cenotaph and along Montpellier Hill ahead than going down to Valley Gardens.

The colorful, family-fun extravaganza filled the city full of different tastes, cultures and sounds that the world has to offer.

Carnival goers were entertained by ensembles, music and dance groups from around the world along with local performers. Acts included Leeds West Indian Carnival, Sweep of Swallows, Bare Brass Band, Houriat Belly Dancing, Actred Fan and STX from Close Act Theatre, Roo’d, Chinese Dragon Dancers and Magic Butterfly.
