Have A Roaring Good Time At The Royal Saskatchewan Museum | News and Media

Published on November 1, 2022

It’s back! Dinovember returns as the Royal Saskatchewan Museum (RSM) roars this November. Home to Scotty, the world’s largest Tyrannosaurus rex, dinosaur lovers of all ages will visit the CN T.rex gallery and participate in exciting activities and programs, including Dino Storytime and Dino Saturdays.

“December is a great time to check out the Royal Saskatchewan Museum’s exhibits, displays and immersive programs,” said Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Laura Ross. “The museum provides an important look into our shared past and many exciting fossil finds from here in Saskatchewan.”

Here’s a quick look at what’s going on.

  • Throughout the month of November, visitors are encouraged to wear their best dinosaur costumes to the museum and enter a prize draw.
  • Pick up an interactive Dinovember activity guide at the front desk and go dinosaur hunting.
  • Wander through the museum to find dinosaurs in our galleries and, with the Augmented Reality link in the guide, you can create a life-size T. rex on your smartphone to bring Scotty to life.
  • On Dino Saturdays, there is family programming at the SaskTel Be Kind online learning lab, including a Gallery Hunt.
  • School Day – Dinosaur Day is being celebrated on Monday, November 14, with family programs, a Gallery Hunt and a chance to meet RSM’s little dinosaurs.
  • Visitors can also visit the new Home Gallery along with all the other galleries and the museum shop.
