The US Navy has sent a delegation to Peru to hold meetings with the Peruvian Navy and senior officials of the Andean country’s defense sector, which took place on October 26 and 27 in Lima.
The delegation was led by none other than Admiral Samuel Paparo, Commander, US Pacific Fleet, and Rear Admiral James Aiken, Commander, US Naval Forces Southern Command (4th Fleet), accompanied by Captain Donald Marks, Commander Rebecca Rebarich, Commander Randall Jones, 1st Lt. Anita Stark, 1st Technician Omar Villanueva, 1st Lt. Stephanie Morales and 1st Supervising Technician Roberto Florentino.
The US Embassy in Peru’s Military Advisory and Assistance Group confirmed the visit of the important US Navy delegation.
The request for its entry into the Peruvian territory has been processed at different levels of the Ministry of Defense to inform the Congress of the Republic.
US Navy officers have confidence-building activities, planning future military exercises, training programs, coordination meetings for future bilateral activities, and protocol meetings.
As commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Paparo commands a fleet of more than 200 ships and submarines, 1,200 aircraft, and more than 130,000 sailors and civilian personnel. Paparo is a naval aviator who graduated from Top Gun school and has accumulated over 6,000 flight hours and nearly 1,100 carrier landings.
