Hillsborough County – County Issues Mandatory Evacuation for Zone B Ahead of Hurricane Ian, Sandbag locations at capacity

Update no. 11 of Hurricane Ian

Hillsborough County, Fla. (September 27, 2022) – Hillsborough County has issued a mandatory evacuation for Evacuation Zone B beginning at 12pm today ahead of Hurricane Ian. All residents in Zone A, Zone B, those in mobile or manufactured homes, and those in low-lying areas prone to flooding should evacuate by 9pm tonight.

All sandbag sites are at capacity. Residents not currently in line waiting for sandbags are asked not to drive to a site.

HART provides services in mandatory evacuation zones A and B

The Hillsborough Transit Authority (HART) will operate toll-free in mandatory evacuation areas until 9 p.m. For more information, visit GoHart.org or call HART Customer Service at (813) 254-4278.
