Passive Aggressive is an exciting mare who looks ready for the next step this spring carnival.
The four-year-old impressed in each of her four starts during the autumn, capped off with a dominant win in the Creswick Stakes down the Flemington Straight.
Her unbeaten run has caught the eye of many and has impressed current manager Grahame Begg.
The Cranbourne-based jockey gave an update on how the horse is currently tracking.
“She’s in good shape,” Begg said ‘Assembly Yard’ with Cam Luke.
“She had a nice test about two weeks ago … it’s been a few weeks since she’s been racing but it’s done her well and she’s ready to go on Saturday.”
“She’s a little bit cranky, she’s a strong girl so you have to watch her a bit, but she’s fine.
“Put your ears on her and she’s as good as gold.”
There is an unknown sense of how good his mare will be, but according to Begg, the horse has been able to meet the challenges set during her short racing journey.
“Every time we’ve raised the bar that she’s hit, it’s a little bit hard to gauge how good she is,” Begg added.
“Certainly, the way she’s done it and the way she’s done it in the races, she’s so professional and she’s been able to handle what she’s been through so far.
“It’s exciting, there’s a lot of pressure because she definitely has the fence right there to her name in terms of wins.
“We are upping the ante in terms of her opposition and the evaluation of the races in which she is competing.
“She’s got to keep growing, she’s in the big leagues now, as far as being a four-year-old … she’s got to keep getting better.”
Passive Aggressive will run at Caulfield this week, in race number eight over 1200m.
