Retweeting is the default way to share someone else’s tweet with your followers. It works for all types of content shared on the platform, but when it comes to videos, there is another way to share. You can share someone else’s video on Twitter without retweeting it. This second method is already widely used by many users and you may have come across such video sharing in your home feed.

When you share a video on Twitter this way, it’s visible to your followers in a clean way compared to retweeting or retweeting it. Your followers only see your title, the video itself, and the name of the account that originally posted it. The last part is to make sure the original poster gets proper credit and your followers are also able to easily reach that account.

Share someone else’s video on Twitter without retweeting

  1. Open the Twitter app and go to the video tweet you want to share.
  2. Click the allocation icon to open the allocation sheet page.
  3. touch Copy the link button to copy the tweet URL to the clipboard.
  4. Open the tweet composition interface by tapping the + icon on the home screen of the Twitter app.
  5. Paste the copied URL into the tweet’s compose box and delete everything that follows the “?” sign.
  6. Add “video/1” to the end of the URL and add a title if you want.
  7. Tap the “Tweet” button to send the tweet.

This is how you can share videos on Twitter without having to re-tweet them. Since this method doesn’t deprive the original poster of proper credit, you don’t have to worry about that aspect either. The same method can be applied when using Twitter on the web. The steps are similar including copying the tweet, removing the part after the question mark and then adding “video/1” to the end.
