Scattered rainfall was observed in local, eastern and southeastern Puerto Rico waters during the overnight hours. The heaviest rains were across southeastern Puerto Rico, where radars estimated about 1 inch of rain.
Overnight lows were in the low 70s and low 80s in the lowlands, while highs were in the mid 60s and high 70s.
Slightly drier air will enter during today which will cause the activity of morning showers to decrease gradually.
However, showers and thunderstorms may affect eastern Puerto Rico in the late morning and early afternoon, while daytime heat and localized effects will cause afternoon convection across central and northwestern Puerto Rico. Rainfall is expected to cause urban and small stream flooding.
Daytime temperatures could reach the low 80s to low 90s in coastal areas with heat indices reaching 100 to 107 degrees.
