The victim gave information about this by tweeting on Lucknow Police account. After that, the UP police responded and after receiving the complaint, ACP Gomtinagar Shweta Srivastava opened an investigation. Late at night, Abhishek reached the Gomtinagar Extension police station and lodged a complaint.
Abhishek Awasthi, a resident of Shalimar Apartment works in a private company. He had left by car around eight o’clock in the morning. They stopped the car near a paan dump near Shaheed’s path. According to Abhishek, he was getting out of the car. Two miscreants on bicycles then arrived. Those who stole his car at gunpoint. Resisting, threatening to escape.
The same Lucknow Police According to Gomtinagar extension inspector Anil Kumar Singh, Abhishek Awasthi had left the car to smoke a cigarette. He stopped the car near Paan ki Gumti. Then he took out the key and put it in the driver’s seat and continued to smoke a cigarette a little further away. Meanwhile, the miscreants run away after setting Abhishek’s car on fire.

According to the inspector, Abhishek did not call the police control room after the incident. He went straight home. Around 10 pm, Abhishek took to Twitter and sent messages about the car being stolen. Then the police called him and asked him to come to the police station. ACP Gomtinagar Shweta Srivastava said an investigation was underway based on Abhishek’s statement. Footage from the CC cameras installed near the said location was also released.
