SURAT: The students of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Surat, an institute of national importance, has taken to twitter since Monday highlighting the state of its upcoming campus. The students pointed out that they have been asked to attend classes in their new campus, where there is currently a tin shed. The institute started academic activity in 2017 but still does not have its own campus.
It should be noted that the second batch of IIITS has already passed out. IIITS ran its academic, administrative and hostel activities from its campus Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute (SVNIT) campus so far.
From 7th August the students have been asked to join the institute in the designated campus on Kamrej near the city. The land was identified nearly three years ago, but there is no academic facility or hostel.
“The institute is not giving an answer whether students will have to study under a shelter. After charging full hostel fees of over Rs 50,000, we will be accommodated in a school hostel and no food will be provided for a few days, ” he said. a student.
When contacting the director of IIITS JS Bhatdeclined to comment on the matter.
