ILMINSTER Carnival returned last weekend after two years and celebrated its 100th anniversary.
On Saturday, October 1, the procession started at 7.15pm from Bay Hill, then proceeded down East Street, Silver Street, West Street, Station Road and finished at the roundabout near The Stonemasons pub.
The children’s procession took place on Saturday 24 September.
The Ilminster Carnival Committee Facebook page shared a message to thank everyone involved in the event and announce three results: “We would like to thank everyone who entered our Ilminster Centenary Carnival Procession and gave a wonderful show. It was great to finally be back.”

This year’s event raised more than £3,000 and the committee also shared a message to thank everyone who donated: “The Ilminster Carnival Committee would like to thank everyone who attended and donated to last night’s carnival.
“It was a hugely successful night enjoyed by all. We are pleased to say that we raised £3,745 last night. Thanks to everyone who helped count all the money this morning and also to all the collectors/collecting machines.”
