Increase of 97.9% in thefts in the Tijuca metropolitan area, north zone of Rio

ISP data shows that Greater Tijuca theft almost doubled compared to the same period in 2021.

From January to August 2021, 2912 thefts were registered in the region. In the same period of 2022, 5764 thefts were registered in Tijuca te Madhe.

The increase was 97.9%.

Robberies also increased. In the same period, nearly 1,000 more robberies were recorded, an increase of 44.2%.

The data refer to the districts of Maracanã, Praça da Bandeira, Tijuca, Alto da Boa Vista, Andaraí, Grajaú and Vila Isabel.

Residents report that crimes occur at any time of the day. . .
