Former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith has shared a piece of advice for Rahul Tewatia. The Indian all-rounder recently shared a cryptic tweet after India’s squad for the Ireland tour was announced by the selectors.
Rahul Tewatia was not included in 17 members Indian team for the two T20I matches. He wrote “Expectations hurt” on his Twitter account, perhaps indicating that he expected his name in the Indian team.
Former cricketer Graeme Smith opined that India has a huge pool of playing talent. He added that Rahul Tewatia should focus on his performance instead of Twitter so that he is not left out of the team. Smith said:
βIt’s very difficult in India as you guys have so much talent. And coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma must have picked most of their guys anticipating the conditions in Australia. I would say instead of Twitter, focus, perform and next time the time comes, make sure no one leaves you out.β

At least his hard work should have been recognised: Sunil Gavaskar feels Rahul Tewatia should have been part of Ireland tour
Former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar feels that Rahul Tewatia should have been part of the Indian team for Ireland tournament. He noted the all-rounder’s excellent performance in the Indian Premier League.
Tewatia won several matches for Gujarat Titans with his powerful batting. He was a key member of their title-winning campaign in IPL 2022.
βRahul Tewatia should have been in the Ireland team. The only man who should have been in the team was Iceman Rahul Tewatia. He was brilliant in the IPL. He batted smartly throughout the tournament. Someone who shows that kind of temperament should be on the team at least as the 16th on the team. At least his hard work should have been recognized,” said Sunil Gavaskar.
