While some shows, like boys, can survive a long break between seasons, they are more of an exception to the norm. Most shows can’t afford a long wait. Just see how Wild ones was canceled after two seasons, and that was despite a responsive social media platform.
We have waited more than three years Carnival row Season 2. The initial anticipation was understandable. Filming was suspended during the pandemic and took some time to resume. However, filming wrapped in September 2021 and we’re still waiting a year later. Does this mean the series will be cancelled?
Season 2 of Carnival Row is likely over
According to Midgard Times, the second season will likely be the last. The publication spoke to several people in Prague and inside the series, and they all shared the same thing. The kits have been retired and it seems the plan was to just end the story with this season.
Was it always planned as a two-season story? This is not clear. It’s possible that during the pandemic, the writers were afraid that the story wouldn’t have a chance to end, so they took it upon themselves to create an ending. After all, it looks like the season finale won’t just end on a cliffhanger. We’ll get the Victorian period style history answers we need.
It is possible that Prime Video will wait until October to bring the fantasy series. This allows it to roll out fantasy shows, which have proven to be among the most popular on Prime Video.
