The Hawaiian singer-songwriter brings his new world tour
“Meet the Moonlight Tour” to Brazil, after passing through the USA,
Australia and New Zealand, for the shows in São Paulo,
Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte.
Jack Johnson is back with wine! Five years after his last visit to the country, the Hawaiian singer-songwriter returns to Brazil to present his new world tour, which marks his return to the stage after the pandemic. After passing through several cities in the United States and also being seen in Australia and New Zealand, the Meet The Moonlight Tour will arrive in São Paulo, in January 18, at Espaço Unimed, and in Rio de Janeiro, January 20, at Qualistage.
The new tournament is the result of Meet the moonlight, The artist’s eighth career album and his first work since 2017.
Released in June of this year, the album is a major artistic milestone for Johnson. In a departure from his previous work, much of the album was shaped by a one-on-one collaboration with producer Blake Mills (whose contributions ranged from string guitar to Moog synthesizer to steel drums ), an intimate and highly experimental process that involved incorporating Johnson’s elegant arrangements with fascinating sonic detail into the artist’s everyday hustle and effort to build a better world. Along with the album’s release, Johnson announced that he would be returning to the road for another world tour.
And coming to Brazil is always part of the artist’s goal when designing a new tour: “I don’t say this in every place I go, but Brazil is one of the most fun places to perform because the audience is so involved. Without a doubt, it is one of the best places to do live music. People are always involved. They get into the beat, they clap, always on the right beat,” Johnson said in a recent interview with CNN Brasil.
.
Although he has said many times that creating hits is not one of his priorities when composing, Jack Johnson is undoubtedly a huge success around the world. Songs like “Upside Down”, “Times Like These” and “Better Together” are worldwide phenomena, they cannot be missed in their shows and have helped Jack Johnson sell 25 million copies worldwide of eight albums his in the studio. and two special projects. In addition, with his smooth voice, his beach style and his sound that mixes pop, alternative rock from the 90s, reggae and soft rock, Johnson is also a success on streaming platforms, where he now has more than 11 billion downloads globally.
Jack Johnson’s shows in Brazil will also feature carioca Rogê opening. The two met backstage at a concert. “He gave me a vinyl record and I brought it home. And when I finally put it on, I really liked it,” Johnson recalled. The album was “Na Veia”, released by Rogê in 2015, in partnership with sambista Arlindo Cruz. When Johnson’s life in Brazil was confirmed, he invited Rogê to attend.
Johnson and Rogê are also releasing Sunsets For Somebody Else and Big Sur (Versionet Brasil) this coming Friday. The tracks were produced by Mario Caldato, Jr. incorporating elements from Jack’s 2017 album All The Light Above It Too and new instrumentals and vocals from Rogê.
