St Kitts and Nevis: Jahzara Claxton from Sandy Point of St Kitts and Nevis has been selected for the West Indies Under-19 women’s cricket team. As Sports Minister, Samal Duggins congratulated Sandy Point’s Jahzara Claxton on her selection in the West Indies Under-19 Women’s Cricket Team.

Jahzara’s selection is historic as she is the first female cricketer from St.

Samal Duggins, expressing the appreciation, said: “We are very pleased that Jahzara has been selected for the women’s under-19 training camp and trial matches to be played in Trinidad and Tobago ahead of the upcoming tour to India later this month. Her selection is indicative of her very strong commitment to excellence in Sport.”

He also praised her and her support group, including her family and coaches. One of her coaches is Dilyn Liddie, a cricket coach in the Sports Department. They are also very proud of the team’s head coach, Steve Liburd of St. Kitts and Nevis, who continues to provide highly commendable guidance.

It is interesting to note that Jahzara is also a national football player of St.

She is an outstanding sports lady and we salute her. The Ministry of Sports continues to work diligently to ensure that the necessary policies and framework are in place so that Jahzara and other athletes can thrive.

Earlier, former Outstanding Teens Mikaya Collins (left) was awarded in the field of Fashion Design in 2018 and Jadell Prentice (right) was awarded in the field of Entrepreneurship in 2021 at Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College which hosted the conflict management workshop and communication.

They are pictured with seminar presenter Patrice R. Harris (center), a former profile writer for the 25 Most Outstanding Teenagers booklet. Another 25 teenagers will be awarded on November 30 at the St. Kitts Marriott.
