Elon Musk is considering turning one of Twitter’s offices into a humanitarian center — and Jeff Bezosof all people, there’s a suggestion … get on my level, because I already did.
The Tesla boss — and now, Twitter board member — dropped a somewhat odd idea this weekend about what to do with the social media company’s San Francisco headquarters … that is, if he should help turn it around in a place where the needy can come and crash.
Convert Twitter SF HQ to homeless shelter since no one shows up anyway

@elonmusk
He asked it as a poll question, writing … “Convert Twitter SF HQ to homeless shelter since no one shows up anyway,” with a simple “Y” or “N” answer. As of this writing, over 1.7 million have responded, and they’re mostly saying … go for it, dude.
Well, it looks like the former Amazon honcho — and currently the world’s second-richest guy, behind Elon — heard about his tech bro’s dilemma … and offered some advice.
Or make a part. It worked great and makes it easy for employees who want to volunteer. https://t.co/r0dZWsMxWT https://t.co/NbUNl1bkJ3

Jeff replied, “Or do a piece. It worked hard and makes it easy for employees who want to volunteer.” He attached one link to an article which details exactly what he’s referring to … apparently, Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle did exactly what Elon had proposed a few years ago.
Amazon’s shelter — which actually sits within the Seattle campus and is attached to one of their large offices there — is called Mary’s Place Family Center at The Regrade … and it’s an impressive 8 stories, spanning 63,000 square meters and with the capacity to accommodate about 200 people per night.
Amazon partnered with MP to operate this site in the early days of the pandemic, and by all accounts … it’s been a godsend for the community. The digs aren’t bad either.
Well, if Elon is serious … he might follow in Jeff’s footsteps to help his friend. EM may have it beat on the bank account lately, but JB is a step ahead in this department.
