UK Athletics is excited to continue its move to mobile ticketing for all home athletics events, as announced in Autumn 2020. Instead of receiving printed tickets, all tickets will now be issued via mobile delivery and fans will use the UK Athletics app or My UK Athletics Account to access and manage their tickets on a smartphone. Mobile Ticketing allows fans to easily text, email and add tickets directly to their smartphone digital wallet for secure and convenient access on game days. Mobile usage reduces the risk of lost, stolen, counterfeit or forgotten tickets, provides quick and contactless entry to event venues and gives all fans the ability to share tickets with family and friends at any time from the device your mobile. Season ticket holders will receive more information once mobile tickets are activated in October. For helpful tips and frequently asked questions about mobile tickets, visit UKathletics.com/MobileTickets. Season ticket holders without a smartphone can contact the UK Ticket Office to make alternative arrangements.
The Wildcats’ returning core is led by Oscar Tshiebwe, the reigning National Player of the Year, who led the country with 15.1 rebounds per game and also paced the Cats in scoring with 17.4 points per game. Kentucky will also welcome back Sahvir Wheeler, who led the conference and ranked third in the nation with 6.9 assists per game. Forwards Daimion Collins, Jacob Toppin and Lance Ware were all instrumental in helping the Wildcats to a 26-8 season a year ago and a national no. 2 in the NCAA Tournament.
Overall, UK is returning 44.3% of its goal production, 58.4% of its rebounds, 50% of its steals, 51.2% of its assists and 72.3% of its blocks from a season ago.
Kentucky will also welcome back four dynamic newcomers, including top-10 signees Chris Livingston and Cason Wallace. Both players were Gatorade State Players of the Year and McDonald’s All Americans. Fast-rising prospect Adou Thiero was linked with the Cats during the late signing period. UK also added one of its top transfers in Antonio Reeves, who ranked among the nation’s top 20 individual scorers a season ago at Illinois State averaging 20.1 points per game.
Kentucky will get an early start to its season with an overseas trip to the Bahamas in August for the third time under Calipari. Both previous times the Wildcats came away with positive results. UK first traveled to the island prior to the 2014-15 season, which sparked a magical run that ended with an undefeated regular season, regular season and SEC tournament titles, and a trip to the Final Four. Kentucky went 4-0 in the Bahamas in 2018 before going 30-7 and reaching the Elite Eight in 2019.
