Kids, adults enjoy annual Treat Street Carnival on Main Street

Halloween started with rainy weather in Hendersonville, but by the time it was time for ghosts, goblins, witches and other costumed characters to come out trick-or-treating, the rain had stopped.

It made for another successful Treat Street Carnival, hosted by the Friends of Downtown Hendersonville and Henderson County Parks and Recreation.

The annual event combined Friends of Downtown Hendersonville’s Trick or Treat Street celebration, Henderson County Parks and Recreation’s Halloween Carnaval and Hola Carolina’s Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and included a costume contest, Monster Mash Sound Extreme DJ party , minors. area (sponsored by Biltmore Church), a variety of inflatables and also performances in the spirit of Día de Los Muertos.

The event was held on Halloween from 5-8pm, as the main road was closed to traffic. Local downtown merchants provided treats for the trick-or-treaters, and even more treats were distributed by Ingles Markets.
