Carnival is in town and so are the ghosts! In honor of Halloween, Sunday was costume day and everyone in costume got in for free.
Hosted by the Central Texas Exposition, the carnival will be in town through Nov. 5 and is located in the parking lot outside the Killeen Special Events Center at 3301 SWS Young Dr.
The organizers held a costume contest in four age categories. Winners received a bundle of free tickets for midway rides.
“Proceeds from these carnivals go to a lot of good causes,” said ‘Billy Bob’ one of the organizers of the event. He and others, including local personality Bear Jones, coordinate the event that comes to Killeen three times a year.
“The future will be back in April,” Jones said.
