HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samiti working president and IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday suffered an ankle injury following an accidental fall.
The minister took to Twitter to announce his injury which coincidentally happened a day before his birthday. The minister has already appealed to party leaders and workers not to celebrate his birthday due to the grim flood situation and instead asked them to donate generously to the needy under the ‘gift a smile’ programme.
Interestingly, the minister posted a picture of himself with his ankle wrapped in a bandage and resting on the couch with the comment: “had a fall today and ended up tearing my ankle ligament. Three weeks rest was advised.” He went on to seek advice from netizens on binge-worthy OTT shows.
A note from his office said the minister reached Pragathi Bhavan after treatment and there was no need to worry.
The minister’s tweet evoked mixed reactions from the Twitterati with some wishing him a speedy recovery while others criticized his entertaining speech for binge-watching OTT. A user with the handle name HR said there was a lot of work that could be done remotely and “I’m sure you’ll manage it.” And then he went on to suggest watching the online series Maharani starring Hima Qureshi, which revolves around a family feud over the post of prime minister between a husband and wife.
One Ramoji suggested the minister to isolate himself and get well soon and another, YSR, offered best wishes and prayers. “Come back stronger,” he said. Abhishek Sigh’s Twitter handle read “aur do Modi ji ko gaali.. bhagwan ne prasad diya.”
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha National Treasury Chief Minister Sai Prasad said, “When Rome was burning, Nero was writhing. As flood-ravaged Hyderabad, @KTRTRS garu looking for binge-worthy OTT shows wah wah (sic)!” He went on to say that “starting differences bet @trspartyonline Dynasts against karyakartas made by @BJP4India (sic) itself.
